Polyester plush fabric achieves “basically no shedding”, with the core being: long filament/high-strength polyester+high-density weaving+short and dense fluff+reinforced finishing; Priority should be given to PV velvet, shake grain velvet, comfortable cotton velvet, non inverted velvet/square standing velvet.
1、 Mainstream non shedding polyester plush (sorted by stability)
PV Velvet (Sea Tiger Velvet): 100% polyester, short dense standing velvet (with a hair height of 2-4mm), almost no shedding or pilling; Delicate and glossy texture, commonly used in toys, home textiles, and children’s clothing.

Shake grain velvet: 100% polyester, with “small particles” on the surface, high strength, and resistance to washing without shedding hair; Good insulation, suitable for outdoor use, children’s clothing, and blankets.

2、 Why does hair fall off? How to prevent shedding hair
Root causes of shedding: excessive short fibers, low weaving density, long fuzz, insufficient post finishing, and high static electricity.
Key process for preventing shedding of hair:
Raw materials: made of * * polyester filament (≥ 50D) * * or high-strength low elongation staple fiber; Avoid inferior short fibers.
Weaving: high-density knitting/warp knitting, double needle bed reinforcement; The fuzz should be controlled at 2-5mm (the shorter, the firmer).
Reinforcement treatment:
Mix 5% -10% low melting point PET and heat set (140-150 ℃) to melt and solidify.
Resin coating/plasma treatment to enhance adhesion.
Anti static finishing to reduce static shedding.
Post finishing: singeing → shearing → shaping → anti-static; No floating hair, no loose ends.
3、 Avoiding pitfalls: These polyester plush fabrics are prone to shedding hair
❌ Ordinary coral fleece (long, fluffy, low density, prone to shedding hair and static electricity).
❌ Ordinary lamb wool/imitation rabbit fur (short fibers, long fur, obvious shedding).
❌ Low price “polyester plush” (short fiber+low density+no reinforcement, severe shedding).
4、 Selection and Testing
Look at the label: 100% polyester filament, labeled as “no shedding/anti pilling/reinforced treatment”.
Appearance: The suede is short, dense, flat, without floating hair, and has a uniform luster.
Simple test:
Dry wiping: Use white gloves to rub vigorously without obvious white hair.
Adhesive tape: Apply 3M adhesive tape 3 times, with almost no fibers.
Washing: Gently wash with cold water, the water is clear and there is no large amount of floating hair.
5、 Nursing advice (extending the lifespan without shedding hair)
First wash: Cold water+gentle mode, wash separately to remove floating hair.
Daily: Cold water/below 30 ℃, use less softener (which will weaken the reinforcement layer).
Drying: Spread flat and dry in the shade, avoid direct sunlight/high temperature drying.
