Core Definition and Process
Flannel is a short and dense layer of fluff formed on the surface of a fabric through the process of raising/brushing. Thickened versions use higher weight fabrics (usually above 300gsm) and double-layer composites (such as one side of flannel and one side of lamb/milk velvet) to enhance warmth; Traditional flannel originates from wool, while modern flannel is mostly made of pure cotton, polyester (polyester fiber), or blends, balancing cost and practicality. The core principle of keeping warm is that fluff can lock in a large amount of still air.
Cleaning and maintenance
For the first wash, it is recommended to gently wash with cold water and add a small amount of neutral detergent to avoid strong friction and damage to the fluff;
Low temperature drying or shade drying of pure cotton products; Polyester models can be machine washed and quickly dried, and high-temperature ironing is strictly prohibited;
Thoroughly dry before storage to avoid moisture and mold;
Reduce prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent fabric aging and fading.
